I have the Gen 2 body style, and I don't see it on the road that much anymore, just here and there. Mostly I see the Gen 3, which I think started in 2009. The ole girl is still in great condition, and although I am wanting to replace her, there is no reason to. Especially with the mechanic work that was done last summer. I need to go back to that mechanic and have him recondition the hybrid battery, and it will almost be like a new car (at least under the hood). Plus I work from home.
I am wary about buying something new because I would plan to keep the vehicle just as long again. Which is why I will likely purchase a Toyota or Lexus, and most likely a smaller SUV. My Prius is too low to the ground, I am too tall, and getting older. Folding myself into the car is getting to be a pain in the ass, and I am so stiff in the morning, or like, all the time. I would also like all the newer safety features, they seem quite useful for the most part.
Anyway, maybe I will detail my car this weekend. It's pretty clean since I don't drive much, but something to do on the weekend.
I am back in school, the second to last class. I am not in the mindset for it and completely forgot to do my homework discussion last week. I need to try and shift into school mode, and I am kind of interested in this class, it's my last Population Health course and the book is fairly interesting.
I finished The Stand a couple weeks ago. That book was in my "currently reading" list for like a year. I said in a couple posts (I think), I wanted to finish before Halloween, so I am glad to have it done, all 1000+ pages, geez. My thoughts, I know some people say it's their favorite read, but I think I am firmly in a 3 star position. After I got the hang of the cast of characters, I was definitely more engaged with the book. But the great debate between good and evil, hmmm. I felt like the "Dark Man" was more of an evil entity, but then Mother Abigail was portrayed as a messenger from god, and eh. Is there another way that goodness could be portrayed, other than using god? I don't recall the Dark Man (aka Randall Flagg) being called Satan or the Devil, but more of a demon, I don't know, it's just kind of annoying that anything that is deemed good or "righteous" is god related. And I know this is the atheist in me, and I also know this is the easiest way for media to deem something "good", I am just tired of it. I have meet and spoken with many "godly" people and they are fucking terrible.
Also, I wonder if Joss Whedon got the inspo for The First from The Stand. I took the Dark Man to be just evil, which is something that is inside all of us, everything has bad and good, and evil can never be eradicated. This made sense on how he was described, and also the ending. Random thoughts.
In other news, I had an interview for another position at my company a couple weeks ago. I do not think I got it, since I haven't heard anything back, but they also just closed the req this Tuesday. They are looking to fill the position Oct 1, but I am expecting the "thanks, no thanks" email tomorrow. I just feel that it is easier to delivery on a Friday I guess, just like a pink slip. I am still under consideration for another position, but they haven't updated shit on that since I did my AI interview, so I am thinking I didn't get it. I haven't been "on it" for applying to external jobs lately. I haven't really found anything I am really drawn to as well.
Two last things, first, House of the Dragon is amazing, and I am so happy to have a hardcore fantasy back on TV. And the Rings of Power starts tomorrow, yes. But, I may wait to watch that because I want to save the fantasy TV shows and space it out. So, HOTD, oh baybeee I am simping for Matt Smith, what a toxic villain, I love it. Honestly, I could do with more toxic behavior, especially regarding the love interests, because I'm into that shit, but hopefully in due time. I watched some behind the scenes clips of him (I have not watched The Crown or Dr. Who), and I love that IRL he is golden retriever gamer guy energy then plays the complete opposite on screen, the range!
And finally, pumpkin spice cold cream foam cold brew or whatever the concoction is called is back, and ugh, I cannot wait. I haven't gone to get one yet since I have had trouble sleeping this week and waking early is not on my agenda, but definitely this weekend!!

I am interested in the new Lord of the Rings prequel. I have been watching the Hobbit movies, why did it take three movies for one book? I would definitely keep the Prius regardless of whether or not you get a new car. Having two cars can be problematic, though, especially if you work from home.
@Shelby, doing okay, just working a lot! Hope all is well with you!
