Halloween Traditions

Is it time to put old things away and change my Halloween tradition? I think it's fun, I make or order pizza (prefer to make at home tho), watch Hocus Pocus, and hand out candy (if I get trick or treaters, which I generally don't, maybe 1-2 nowadays). I've seen Hocus Pocus a lot, but it is kind of a perfect movie from start to finish. Cheesy, yes, but adult jokes mixed in, great acting, the set design and costumes!!!, excellent story. Generally throughout October I will watch Halloween movies, nothing too scary, but I only watched Scream this year because I have been busy moving.

I am writing this post from my new place! I rented a townhome, about 10 minutes from my old house, but far enough away that I'm in a new neighborhood, have a new grocery store, all that. I like it, but it is outdated. The owner recently moved out and I'm the first tenant, I can tell that the dude just lived here and didn't really invest in the property or update anything, which is unfortunate. I know I still have my "homeowners glasses" on, because I see simple upgrades that can be done, and while I may consider doing something that is just my own time, and not cost anything, that's about it.

I do think that maybe it was a mistake moving into a two story when I have a shit knee, but I think once I actually get things unpacked and won't be going up and down the stairs carrying boxes and what not, things will be easier. Plus I love having the space, it's about 350 square feet less than my old house, of course no real yard, but who cares. I also only have a carport and not a garage, which sucks, but at least I have that. You need it in Texas due to the random hail storms we get here.

It is nice to live alone again, very nice. Me and the cats, as it should be. I do wish my kitchen was a bit bigger and had more modern appliances, at the very least a better stove, but it is what it is. I have also already met the community busy body, and I will be sure to keep my conversations with her brief and friendly. Porkchop is on the lamb here, as the HOA only allows 2 pets per condo, which annoying. I see both sides for the HOA, but I am really not in favor, generally speaking. Although, it would have been nice to not see an old toilet across the street at my old neighbors, so like, yah, I see how an HOA would be useful in that situation as well.

Anyway, I think the cats like it, they took to the stairs well, and Miso loves to yewl in the stairwell and have it echo. I do really miss Louis, but he isn't my cat and there is nothing I can do about it. He gets to live a boring ass life with Miles now.

Speaking of, Miles bought duplicate furniture of everything I had. I am serious. Everything will be almost the same. I just don't understand, and I don't think I want to either.

Long time blog reader here: congrats, that sounds really good! Your knees will get used to it 🙂 Also weird that Miles bought the same furniture, kind of sounds like he is scared of finding out what he likes and wants.

Congrats on the move. You needed it. I never update my condo either. I don't mind the way it is.

Miles has no idea who he is. I think it is his overbearing mother's fault, but who knows. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
