The week post sex with Steve went well. He really took what I said to heart about getting more attached after I am intimate with someone and he scheduled a phone call for early in the week and was engaging me in text everyday, and not just basic conversation either. He was making it clear what he thought of me and how much he liked me. It was very appreciated and I made sure to express that appreciation to him.
Although, I thought it was odd that we spoke during the week, and then when he texted me on Saturday he was checking in from Lake Charles, LA. His friend were taking him to a famous Crawfish Festival. He told me something like, oh yeah, my friends wanted to cheer up their divorced depressed friend, this has been planned for months.
Okay, but why not mention it to me when we talked? Granted we didn't speak on weekend plans, but I feel like if I was going to a festival over the weekend I would mention it?? At the same time, I am not his keeper, so why would he tell me? I guess this was just a reminder that I'm not a priority over just maintaining our connection? I don't know.
I guess I should take it as a good reminder, as I noticed that he was checking Tinder while there, since it updates your mileage. Look, I can't be the kettle or pot here because I was actively talking to someone I was quite interested in as well, but I'm a stupid girl. I know that for me sex starts to equate to feelings, attachment. I do this myself. It's not like he wasn't showing me interest, because he was. And really, how much faster should I expect something to move? Lets not be ridiculous here, the pace is perfect for me. My attachment issues are showing.
Anyway, he reached out a couple times while he was there and we talked and he sent me a few pictures. He inquired about what I was up to, he told me I was amazing, it was just a lot. We texted a bit on Sunday when he got home, but nothing too interesting. I almost outed myself as I had checked his Tinder mileage and it still said he was almost 400 miles away, and I asked "when do you get home" and he was like, "oh I've been home for a couple of hours". However, that was a completely normal question to ask when he hadn't told me he was back on the road or made any comment about it. Again, weird to me.
I ended up getting ghosted by the guy I was in the talking stage with, which circled Steve back to the front row of my thoughts. Not immediately, I was pretty bummed about the other guy because he seemed pretty cool, but oh well, that's how it goes. Dating really is the pits of hell.

A few not great moments at the beginning are to be expected. It can still turn out well.
